The Flight of Night

The old song, a melody of yearning, echoed in Night's mind. "I wish I could fly like an angel," she'd sing countless times as a child, a simple fantasy of soaring above her troubles. Night found herself spending more and more evenings alone in her small apartment, scrolling through social media, watching their vibrant lives unfold from a distance. She could finally sign up for that photography workshop she'd been eyeing, volunteer at the animal shelter, or simply spend an afternoon at the community garden.
