SHARING ON THE NEED OF WORKERS IN THE LORD'S VINEYARD
Matthew 9:37-38
"The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few."Brothers and sisters, we find Jesus looking out at the crowds, not with judgment, but with profound compassion. He sees them as "harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd." And then, He turns to His disciples and utters these profound words: “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.
Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field .
The Plentiful Harvest:
What is this harvest Jesus speaks of? It is humanity! It is every person longing for meaning, searching for hope, and in desperate need of the Good News. Look around you – in our communities, our workplaces, our families – the harvest is indeed plentiful. There are hungry hearts, weary souls, and people who are lost and hurting. The Few Workers: Yet, Jesus laments that the workers are few. This isn't a criticism, but a call to action. It reminds us that the task is great, and the laborers are insufficient for the immense need. Are we, as followers of Christ, truly stepping into our role as workers in this harvest? Are we actively sharing the hope we have found?
The Urgent Prayer: Jesus doesn't just state the problem; He gives us the solution: "Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." This is not a passive request; it's an urgent, heartfelt plea. We are to pray that God would raise up and send out more laborers – people willing to go, to speak, to serve, and to love. This prayer begins with us. Are we willing to be among those workers?
A Call to Action:
Today, let us renew our commitment to being workers in God's harvest. Let us pray fervently for more laborers. And let us ask ourselves:
"Lord, am I willing to be sent?""Am I ready to share Your love with a world that desperately needs it?" The harvest isWaiting
🙏PRAYER 🙏
: Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your boundless compassion and for the gift of salvation. We see, as Jesus did, that the harvest is plentiful, and the need for Your love and truth is immense. We confess that at times, we have been hesitant or silent. We humbly ask You, Lord of the harvest, to send out more workers into Your field. Raise up men and women, young and old, to boldly proclaim Your name and demonstrate Your love. And Lord, we pray that You would examine our own hearts. Equip us, empower us, and send us, that we may be faithful laborers in Your harvest. May Your kingdom come, and Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. AMEN
